Nursing Students’ Mental Health: How Does Eco-Anxiety Effect?
Summary
This study aimed to determine the eco-anxiety levels of nursing students and the relationship between eco-anxiety and their mental health. Researchers conducted a cross-sectional correlation and descriptive study with 609 nursing students from two universities in Istanbul. Data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Eco-Anxiety Scale, and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) via an online survey.
The results indicated that the participants had an average Eco-Anxiety Scale score of 25.65 ± 7.49 and a DASS-21 score of 21.24 ± 14.76. A statistically significant and positive correlation was found between the Eco-Anxiety Scale and DASS-21 scores. It was determined that these students displayed moderate eco-anxiety which may affect their ability to take pro-climate action. This study aims to contribute to the development of effective policies for climate change awareness
