Essential Gardening Tools for Therapeutic Horticulture Programs

This course goes beyond technical instruction to reframe gardening tools as active members of the therapeutic team. At the same time, it offers practical, tool-by-tool guidance on the traditional and adaptive use of commonly used gardening tools in therapeutic horticulture and general gardening settings. Tools are explored as both functional supports and meaningful reflections of dignity, sustainability, and self-care. Through intentional tool selection and use, participants leave with solid, applicable knowledge that supports safety, reduces strain, and enhances engagement as bodies and abilities change over time.

This continuing education session content is pre-approved by NCTRC for 180 min (0.3 CEUs)
