The Role of Horticultural Therapy in the Treatment of Refugees with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder

This review highlights the significant prevalence of PTSD among refugees, reporting that 15% of refugees are diagnosed with the disorder. Reviewing specific studies on horticultural therapy’s effects in veterans, one finding showed that participants experienced a 12% decrease in cortisol levels after completing a 28-day program that included horticultural therapy.
